The story of Nyholm Group begins when engineer Olov Nyholm, at the time a production supervisor at a fiberglass manufacturer in Bredaryd, gets the opportunity to acquire a portion of the company. Olov builds his own factory and establishes Formenta AB in Värnamo.

Olov Nyholm builds his first machine to manufacture fiberglass flagpoles, which becomes Formenta's first own product. This also marks the start of Formenta as a brand.

Formenta launches the export of flagpoles, with Denmark and Great Britain as the first international markets.

Formenta expands its export market to also include North America.

Peter Nyholm acquires Formenta from his parents and continues to develop the family business further.

Formenta becomes the majority shareholder of the Dutch company Wego BV, which becomes Formenta-Wego BV. This marks the start of the expansion of Nyholm Group with focus on product development and continuous improvement.

Nyholm Group acquires majority shares and gains control of Danish company Danomast A/S, founded in 1968.

The operational control is transferred to Peter's sons Henrik, Carl and Nils which results in an expansion of the product assortment.

Uteprodukter.se is founded.

Nyholm Group acquires all shares of Formenta-Wego BV, which now becomes Formenta Vlaggenmasten B.V.

Nyholm Group acquires the majority shareholding in Helsingborg based Flaggfabriken Kronan, founded 1932 and official supplier to the Swedish Royal Palace.

Henrik, Carl & Peter Nyholm are awarded Entrepreneurs of the Year in Värnamo.
